It’s been two years since the release of Pegasus, book three in my modern war series, and some of you might be wondering, “What’s holding up the release of book four?”
The short answer is: A lot. So I thought I’d give you a little update on the progress and (for those of you who haven’t read them…yet) an overview of the series.
Book four is about half-completed and centers on the war against ISIS in 2017-2018.
It begins in the Central African Republic where we find Aiden McCoy and his family running an organization dedicated to rescuing former child soldiers in the war-ravaged nation. Alongside him is Porter Dawkins, a former SEAL, and Guy, a former child soldier.
Aiden receives a request for help from a fellow retired PJ doing humanitarian aid work in Iraq. Moved by the plight of the terrorized civilians, Aiden and his wife Ginger resolve to take their crew and their young family to Mosul to lend a hand.
Meanwhile, Porter’s old unit — as well as other special forces, including Casey Allen — operate in the Syrian theatre conducting shadow operations with questionable allies.
As both situations intensify, Aiden and Porter find themselves enmeshed with Iraqis, Kurds, and others in the midst of one of the century’s most complex and dangerous battlefields. As they lean on God’s promptings and their training, they struggle to do whatever they can so that others may live.
I hope you’ll look forward to this final installment of the series and be patient with me as I make it worth your time.
